Week 4 Reflection
This week has been particularly interesting for me in forms of reflection. I found myself easily becoming stressed and withdrawing from things that previously brought me joy and entertainment. An example of this was interacting on twitter. Usually I enjoy commenting on the tweets of others and even planned to share some of my own tweets, however those stayed in my drafts. I was torn between trying to get everything done, test out all the tools, basically spreading myself too thin, or pull back a little this week and focus on the few things I could. Working with pinterest this week and reddit was a nice change, as it felt more therapeutic to pin things that would work "in a perfect world" or read on reddit about specific topics and communities that interested me. As always I'm still working towards putting myself out there and becoming more comfortable as the semester goes on.
Hi Emily!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I just wanted to assure you that we are all feeling the same way! In fact, I am still apprehensive about fully committing to certain tools! However, I think the important thing is to do what you are comfortable with. I too, feel the stress of being "made to" use tools that I normally enjoy doing (like using Instagram), which someone takes the fun out of something that I initially enjoyed doing. I wanted to refer you to Beth's post this week on 'Getting back into it", it really helped me put things into perspective!
Hi Kelvyn!
DeleteThank you for your comment, it's nice to know I'm not the only one feeling this way. I will definitely check out Beth's post!
